You will need:
For the Ostrich Patties:
- 2 ostrich patties
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Bean Burger Patties (Vegetarian Option):
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For the Sweet Potato Fries:
- 2 large sweet potatoes, cut into fries
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Salad:
- Mixed greens (lettuce, spinach, etc.)
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Sliced cucumber
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Patties:
- Ostrich Patties:
Marinate the ostrich patties in soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Bean Burger Patties:
Mash the black beans in a bowl. Mix in breadcrumbs, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Form into patties.
2. Cook the Patties:
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the ostrich patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- For bean patties, cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
3. Prepare the Sweet Potato Fries:
- Preheat the oven to (220°C) or just pop it into the airfryer
- Toss sweet potato fries with
paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
4. Assemble the Salad:
- In a bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber.
- Drizzle with lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Serve:
- Place the patties on a plate.
- Add a serving of sweet potato fries and salad on the side.
